Indonesia’s biggest rave party, Djakarta Warehouse Project has return with some of their best lines last weekend and people went overly excited. Even with the repeat names filled up the line-up for the three days affair, we have to admit that the hype of DWP will never sunk.
The first day of the festival was rounded up with a rare moment of Zedd walked into the Garuda Land stage, joining Martin Garrix and spin out an instant collaboration on stage.
The next highlight of the first day came from Blasterjaxx who spontaneously played the all-times favorite song from Reza Artamevia, “Berharap Tak Berpisah” which being modified into a dangdut koplo version. Don’t get it wrong Buddies, people were going nuts over it! Amongst the line-up, Yellow Claw also stole the attention with a surprise-appearance from Ramengvrl and Arindy Putri who both previously attracted them through a viral video on social media.
The hype went even more pumpin’ on the second day of the event where most of the electronic line-up were gather. With the Barong Family stage was being transformed into the El Triangulo de las Rowmudas (Elrow) – which be the first time ever in Asia, the giant-ship stage was shaken by Claptone, Meduza, Marc Maya, Riva Starr, Chelina Manuhutu, Mario Biani, Hyde, and Okiocto.
Moving onto the Garuda Land stage where Skrillex stepped into the stage, bringing his signature dubstep that people were craving more since his last performance on the affair.
More from the highlights, Jahan and Yasmin Yousaf from Krewella has finally made their first live debut in Indonesia on the second day of the Djakarta Warehouse Project. “What an amazing crowd, WOW!” they said. Well, we couldn’t be more agree to that! Another sibling that filled up the night was Guy and Howard Lawrence of Disclosure who were also debuting their first time of DWP, bringing their top songs like “You & Me” as well as “Latch”.
The excitement of DWP 2019 continued on the third day when Calvin Harris finally returned to the DWP stage since his first stage back in 2012. This might be the most awaited moment from the 11th edition of the affair, where the Scottish DJ and producer returned with his signature stage and production, featuring a special podium where he performed, flanked by two small towers on both sides. “Jakarta! Thank you for having me here!”, he shouted.
While Garuda Land stage was packed with the euphoria from Calvin Harris, the Neon Jungle stage also had its own crowd to surf. For the very first time in Indonesia, David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel from Chromeo, brought the nuances of synth-pop and funk to DWP. They performed right after Kallula x Pon Your Tone Soundsystem where Kallula’s debut single, “This Love”, as well as the song “Skin to Skin” by Monica Karina and “Woosha” from Matter Mos were alternately performed by Dipha Barus, Jnaro, Kayman, and Jidho played on the DJ deck.
Finally, rounded up the rave party, Jonas Blue closed the event with his hit, “Rise” alongside with the blasted fireworks, blinding up the skies, completing his signature tropical house/EDM and marked the night to be unforgettable to whom that experienced it.
