Last night was a total blast for Shawn Mendes’ fans in Indonesia. The Canadian-singer held his very first concert at Sentul International Circuit Center (SICC), Bogor, West Java, as a part of his Asian tour 2019.

The 2-hours concert was a real deal, fulfilled with magical moments that marks every audience’s heart! Despite the heavy rain poured down and delayed schedule due to the safety issue, the excitement didn’t seem to be bothered.

Unlike the other concerts, Shawn Mendes banned any kind of plastic used at his concert, including a plastic-bottled mineral water. It was reportedly that the special request came from the man himself, encouraging people crews, vendors and even the audiences to go-green. In addition, Mendes’ management team also forbid any large-scaled of bags/backpacks for a security-reason.

Shawn Mendes didn’t just present a well-enchanting performance. The stage set-up was also one of the highlights from the concert. It is equipped with large dimly-lit rose, along with soft and soothing visual that really gave a perfect companion for the Pop-singer setlist.

During the concert, the 21-years old singer wasn’t just performing his famous songs such as ‘Stitches’, or ‘Treat You Better’. Shawn Mendes also surprised the fans with a sudden-disappearance from the stage after ‘Mercy’, and ended up with a solo-piano, performing Coldplay’s megahit, ‘Fix You’. In addition, he also lightens up the mood by singing the late Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)’.

In the middle of his performance, Shawn Mendes also mentioned that he actually had a close-friend, who originally is Indonesian. According to the singer, he used to get a lot of stories about Indonesia from his friend, who then moved back to Indonesia years ago. He quoted, “When I was little, I actually have one friend who is Indonesian, however, he had to move back to Indonesia when we were in high school. Ever since, I always dreamed about visiting Indonesia, and that dream is finally come true”
