Museum Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Macan) just held its first gala on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Ritz- Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place. The event claimed as the Jakarta’s largest fundraising event for the arts, to support Museum MACAN’s art education and community. 

The 2019 MACAN Gala is led by the founder of Museum MACAN Foundation, Haryanto Adikoesoemo and Sintawati Ongkowijoyo, founder of TIME International and Macan Patron, Irwan Mussry, together with Maia Estianty. Also joining to the leading group are Maulana Indraguna from MRA Group and his wife, the one and only Dian Sastrowardoyo.

The gala auction also conducted by leading auctioneer, Phillips, which included an array of works from leading Indonesian and international artists Jenny Holzer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Zico Albaiquni, Arin Dwihartanto Sunaryo, Xu Bing, and also a new, exclusive work made for the auction by Christine Ay Tjoe. 

As per-today, Museum MACAM has welcomed more than 90.000 students and children, reached 207 educational institutions, sponsored around 50 school visits with UOB as their Primary Education Partner, and also worked with 178 teachers throughout Jakarta and Indonesia. 

The event was also attended by Fenessa Adikoesoemo, the Chairwoman of Museum MACAN Foundation, Amalia Wirjono, Daisy Musin, Jasmine Prasetio, Jessie Setiono, Marsha Timothy, Nicholas Tan, Raline Shah, Reza Rahadian, Rio Pasaribu, Rosalindynata Gunawan-Bakrie, Titi Rajo Bintang, Velove Vexia, Wilsen Willim dan Winda Malika Siregar.
